Our Mission

Brooklyn Pasta Lab was established in 2017 and is run by Michael Pini, who has been a chef in NYC for over a decade. Michael has worked in NYC’s top restaurants including, Eleven Madison Park, The NoMad Hotel, Betony, as well as the famous Bruno e Franco La Salumeria in Bologna, Italy. His personal mission as an Italian-American is to bring Italian cuisine to the comfort of your home.

Our pasta kits include fresh handmade pasta and traditional sauce pairings, serving two people, generously, in under 10 minutes.

Our Story

Pasta was always a huge part of Chef Michael Pini’s life. Growing up in an Italian-American household, cooking food was a way to slow down, a way to be together with family and loved ones.

2017

Chef Michael Pini began making fresh pasta for friends and family in his Brooklyn apartment, after a 3-month trip to Italy in the summer of 2017. In Italy, he mastered the skill of making pasta by hand using a traditional ‘mattarello’, a large Italian rolling pin. Pasta making was a passion of Michael’s that he practiced rigorously, all while working in NYC’s top restaurants.

2020

As NYC began to shut down, Michael took his passion for pasta making and turned it into a full-time business with the help of his wife, Alyssa. Together, they were able to deliver their pasta kits between NYC and Montauk, feeding thousands of households.

2022

Over the past two years, Brooklyn Pasta Lab received many inquiries about expanding services beyond NYC. By finally being able to fulfill those requests, Brooklyn Pasta Lab begins shipping pasta kits all across the USA.
